Santa’s buttons

Difficulty: low

1 cup freshly sifted flour
half a cup of brown sugar
1 / 2 pack butter
a pinch of salt
two yolks
1 / 2 sachet baking powder
1 / 2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 / 2 teaspoon ginger powder


Mix in a clean bowl with sugar flour , baking powder, cinnamon and ginger powder. Add melted butter over all half. Mix everything until we get a crumbly mass and then put two yolks and stir continuously by hand, to get a dough like a plasticine (if possible even need flour, depending on the type of flour you use is likely to be little need even flour “00”).

Then remove the dough from the cold and knead it a little to regain elasticity. Then on the table spread with rolling pin floured dough. So after starting to cut Santa`s buttons stretch slowly. We use two round shapes one bigger than the first for a small inner contour. That’s the shape of buttons. With a straw formed four holes, only to be sewn to clothing as Santa Claus.

And then put in a baking tray with paper coverings and give over medium heat in preheated oven for 15 minutes, maximum 20 depending to the oven. And the whole house full of flavor … just like Christmas, only without the snow but with aromatic cinnamon, ginger fragrant.

Chocolate, the perfect gift!

 Chocolate Truffles
Difficulty: low

Ingredients (for 30 pieces):

200 grams dark chocolate
50 ml whipped cream
50 g margarine or butter
2 teaspoons instant coffee
50 g cocoa
rum essence


Place in a bain-marie pannikin (steam bath) broken chocolate pieces, whipped cream and margarine. Stir continuously until chocolate and margarine melts and begins to blend composition. Add the instant coffee and rum essence and stir vigorously to dissolve them.

Put in the refrigerator for about an hour the composition. Hands of the composition formed balls the size of a walnut and they wallow in cocoa.
After we modeled all truffles put them in the refrigerator again because they still heat softens the hands. They are very good, very easy to make, are very suitable for holiday meals.

Baked macaroni with cheese and cinnamon
Difficulty: Medium


A package of macaroni
500 g cottage cheese
200 g cream
5 eggs
A pinch of salt
20g butter
vanilla sugar


In a pot of boiling water add a little oil, salt and pasta and cook about 15 minutes until they are well cooked. Meanwhile, prepare cheese , vanilla sugar and cinnamon for flavor (taste). It incorporates well then add cream and 2 eggs. Prepare also the oven tray: grease with butter.

Once pasta is cooked, drain well then add the above prepared mixture over them. It incorporates well then place in pan. Finally add the egg whites to tie the composition, and  then put in the oven for about 30 minutes. Remove the tray and place the composition on the plate and garnish with a little cream and a pinch of cinnamon.

Christmas is the perfect period for you and your family to enjoy the sweets cooked  and to give a special flavour! Even if they are not low in calories, i guess once a year worth to dare to enjoy the sweets and wait for Santa! Merry Christmas!
