Making Homemade Chocolate, a Special Dessert

Today we will be making homemade chocolate! I am not an enthusiast of sweets or cookies, but I adore chocolate, especially the homemade type. To prepare a delicious homemade chocolate, you don’t need just the recipe but also some tricks to obtain a wonderful flavor.

Experts believe that one of the most important ingredients for homemade chocolate is cocoa butter. However, if you cannot find this ingredient in supermarkets, there are other ways of preparing your chocolate by the book.

Firstly, in order to obtain a great homemade chocolate, we must use the best dark chocolate we can find. Making great homemade chocolate involves using best ingredients. Another important step is to prepare it in bain-marie – to avoid ruining the ingredients. Moreover, the milk you are going to use must not be processed and it also has to contain a lot of fat.

To give extra flavor and a pinch of originality to your chocolate, you can add various seeds (walnuts, pistachios, almonds or hazelnuts), fruits or even other types of chocolate. Moreover, the sugar should be added at the end of the recipe.

To obtain 10 portions of homemade chocolate you need:

  • 8 cups of milk;
  • 1 cup of sugar;
  • Vanilla;
  • 2 tablets of dark chocolate.

Cut the dark chocolate into small pieces or grate it. The heated milk mixed with vanilla and sugar must be added over the chocolate gradually until you obtain a dense composition. Pour it into cups, over which you can add liqueur, cinnamon and whipped cream.

  • 150 g of butter
  • 250 g of milk powder
  • 100 g cocoa
  • 500 g of sugar
  • 150 ml water
  • Butter for your pan
  • Nuts (optional)

The pan must be kept in the fridge (at zero degrees Celsius) for at least 12 hours.

Mix thoroughly the butter, milk and cocoa until they form a smooth paste.

Boil a syrup made of sugar and water until it binds (as for jams). After it cools, pour the syrup over the paste.

Before filling the pan with the paste, grease it with butter. Keep the homemade chocolate in the fridge for at least 2 hours before cutting it into pieces.

In this way it can be obtained one kilogram of chocolate.

However, after making homemade chocolate, you should not eat it all by yourself, but share it with all your friends and family. It is true that homemade chocolate is delicious, even irresistible; but in the same time it is full of puffy calories which can ruin your diet and make you work more at the gym. So, don’t exaggerate!
