This green sandwich is great as a healthy breakfast or a dinner snack. If you are too lazy to make a full main dish of course. All the ingredients are available in stores near you. Other varieties of these vegetables can be substituted. You may want to ensure you use a smooth creamy avocado and crispy lettuce.
Green Sandwich Recipe – Needed ingredients:
- 2 slices of grilled good quality bread
- hummus (or mayonaisse)
- 1 little avocado sliced
- some leaves of lettuce (or rucola)
- 8-9 cherry tomatoes sliced (or 4 slices tomato)
- 2 slices of bacon (or turkey breast)
Spread the butter and the hummus or mayonnaise on one side of each 2 slices of grilled bread . Take the first slice of bread and layer the lettuce, tomato, bacon and finally the avocado slices. Season with salt and pepper. Cover that with the other slice of bread. Enjoy while still slightly warm.
