Luckily, people who are pressured by time can exercise thanks to Circuit Training. Circuit training was specially designed for women in their 30s who are not used to exercising. The exercise program consists of circuit-training machines, change stations and music.
What is Circuit Training?
Circuit training consists of resistance exercises which involve moderate weights, and numerous repetitions, followed by other exercises which target a different part of the body. Since the exercises target different parts of the body, a break period is not required. Thanks to the constant exercising, the heart rate is high, which increases the metabolism. In some of the cases, aerobics are included between the resistance exercises.
When the session starts, the machines should be already set up in the proper manner. In the majority of the cases one spends around 30 or 40 seconds at a machine, then jog for 30 or 40 seconds, move to the next machine, and so on. Once around all the machines can last up to 15 minutes, and two rounds are usually performed.
Circuit training is excellent for people who want to stay in shape, and for the ones who want to tone their bodies. The reason for that is the fact that the heart rate is maintained high on a constant basis. From this point of view, it is much better than the regular weight lifting sessions.
The cardiovascular fitness is improved thanks to the circuit training, but it isn’t enough when it comes to putting on lean muscle mass. Strength and endurance are improved thanks to circuit training sessions, and metabolism is accelerated.
Circuit Training is Excellent for Beginners
In case they have an okay diet, women can also maintain and even add a little muscle mass. Of course, the more muscle one has, and the higher his/her lean muscle mass is, the higher the metabolism will be. Muscle mass is very important for women because once they reach the age of 30, they start to lose 1 percent of their muscle mass per year. Circuit training is brief, challenging, and it can be effective.
The 30 minutes might not be enough in order to get fit, but for people who are not used to exercising, it does wonders. In time, they can exercise besides those 30 minutes, which will help them get even fitter. As an exercise routine for beginners, it is more than useful.
Circuit training can also be used at home, and the advantage is the fact that weights are not even required. Instead of weights, you can use water bottles filled with sand or water, and so on. According to the experts, the most important thing is to make an effort; to try to challenge yourself each time, otherwise the effects are futile.
