Reading the label of certain foods is mandatory since it can show the exact amount of sodium they contain.

The main types of foods that can be eaten frequently without worrying about the blood pressure are lean cuts of meat, fresh or frozen fish, plain rice and noodles, skimmed milk and also cereals. Additionally, chicken and turkey can also be consumed (without the skin, boiled, not fried) together with loaf bread and English muffins, fresh or frozen vegetables that don’t contain salt. Smoking is the main vice that makes cholesterol attach to your veins therefore quitting is mandatory. Moreover, you should stop drinking more than 4-5 glasses in a row, since the body will receive a sudden boost of alcohol and your blood vessels won’t resist the pressure. Nevertheless, having a glass of red wine is acceptable and even recommended as it encourages the body to produce hemoglobin.

It is also for the best to avoid smoked or treated meats such as hot dogs, sausages and bacon, canned fish and fish that live in the sea, cheese, salty snacks, regular canned vegetables and pickled foods. All these foods are not recommended because they contain a high amount of salt, the main agent that increases blood pressure.
