The French Diet

In this article we wish to present you the principles of the well known French diet and also an actual example of this regimen.

The French diet, promoted by Mireille Guiliano, allows you to eat whatever you want and enjoy goodies, such as cheese, white bread, chocolate and wine.

Always known for being very chic, even in the moments when they go for a walk with their dog or shopping in a supermarket, French women have countless qualities, besides their unique style. Over the years, the French diet has become famous and is now tested by many women around the world.

French Woman

One particularly interesting characteristic of French women, which interests us, contradicts everything we know about diets: French women are not fat, although the French diet includes large amounts of fats, sweets and even red wine at every meal. Thus, what is the secret of the French diet, due to which French women do not get fat?

Mireille Guiliano initiated a few years ago a French Revolution in the United States. Today, the beautiful and supple Mireille, promoter of the French diet, has a tremendous success because of her impressive book which tries to explain the principles of this regimen.

The French diet allows you to try them all, but within bounds

If you have ever watched a movie in which the action takes place in France, than you already know that French women are famous for the time they spend in restaurants and cafes, eating all the goodies, drinking wine and smoking (and doing a lot of sex –but we do not know if there is a real connection between this activity and the French diet). It is true – these women do not refuse anything that could bring them a moment of pleasure. However, they seem to know very well what are their limits, without flinging their cap over the windmill.

French diet rules

If you want to lose weight, you must follow these 6 simple rules., not as complicated as those promoted by other diets!

French diet Rule No . 1:

Eat three meals a day. If you wish to keep the French diet, the first thing you should do is to eat three meals per day. The secret to have an enviable figure is not starvation but rather to offer the body all the necessary nutriments for it to function correctly. Only in this way you will be sure that your metabolism burns calories efficiently and that you can maintain your energy level high during the day. In any case, it is essential not to exaggerate.

French diet Rule No. 2:

All the essential elements must be included in every meal : protein, fat, carbohydrates
Forget about all the mono-diets. This is not a proper solution to lose weight. According to the French diet principles, your meals should be balanced and contain all the nutrients essential to the body.

French diet Rule No. 3:

Eating in small quantities. The French diet recommends you to eat slowly and in small quantities. Learn to love food, enjoy each of your favorite foods by eating less without being hungry. Thus, you can enjoy a small dessert and drink a glass of wine after lunch.

French diet Rule No. 4:

Just a little bit of salt. French food contains very small amounts of salt. By limiting and reducing the consumption of salt you can also prevent the appearance of cellulite.

French diet Rule No. 5:

Glycemic index. Read, learn and remember. Read labels and learn to appreciate the actual composition of products and the value of the glycemic index. Small differences can bring great benefits. Always choose products that have a low glycemic index.

French diet Rule No. 6:

Soup for supper. Generally, French women do not have dinner without including in their menu a bowl of soup. We are talking about simple, tasty, vegetable soups with a bit of cheese.
