If you usually do your manicure at home or simply do not have enough time to make an appointment at a salon, we offer you some tips of how to make your nails look perfect in any circumstance. Every woman wants to have a perfect manicure and many advices are now available.
Dry cuticles, wrinkled skin on your fingers, brittle and chipped nails – these are signs that your hands need special care. The most common enemies of nails and hands are harsh detergents and water, which destroy both nails and the fibers of the skin.
Make sure you always use gloves when washing the dishes and also use more hand lotion throughout the day. If you wash your hands frequently, buy a special antibacterial hand lotion that can reduce the times you use water and soap every day.
For a perfect manicure, follow these simple steps:
Always use a nail polish solvent without acetone and try not to touch your cuticles with the pad, because they could become dryer and crack.
File your nails in just one direction. It would be perfect if your nail tips had the shape of their base. Also, square nails are not recommended, unless your nails are really narrow. To prevent the breaking of your nails, they shouldn’t be very long and their square ends should be slightly rounded.
Soak your hands in warm water with lemon juice or olive oil and then apply a moisturizing cream on them to remove the dirt and soften the cuticles. Never cut your cuticles with scissors! If you do so, they will only grow thicker in a shorter period of time. Use a special device or cream to do this.
Massage your fingertips. Dry your hands with a soft towel and then clean your nails with a small brush. Apply a base coat on the nails by holding the brush parallel to the nail tip. Then, apply the nail polish. If you are in a hurry, use a light color or a transparent nail polish to hide the possible mis-cues.
Apply a thin layer of color as thin layers are less prone to cracking than the thicker ones. You should always apply the nail polish by starting from the center of your nail and then on each side of it. If you wish to have bright and shinny nails, use a transparent nail polish to finish the manicure process.
If you usually struggle to obtain the perfect French manicure, than you should first color the tip of your nails with a special white pencil. It is easier to use and sometimes lasts longer than the actual nail polish.
Complete your manicure by correcting the errors or spots left on your nails by soaking a cotton swab in acetone and applying it on the problem areas. Moisturize your hands with lotion when the nail polish is completely dry.
To make your manicure last longer, apply a protective nail polish every five days. Moreover, you should weekly remove the dead skin cells using a hand shower gel or soap that contains exfoliating granules.
Keep your nail polish in the fridge – in this way, it will last longer. If the nail polish starts to get dryer, mix it with a new transparent one. Acetone is not recommended, as it dries quickly and the nail polish becomes viscous again.
