Cocoa has a high content of antioxidants that can protect skin from free radicals, thus, preventing the aging process. We present you ways of using the cocoa powder in mixtures that could feed your beauty.
Are considered to be a super product because of their content, rich in minerals and antioxidants. However, in order to benefit from the protective effects of this type of food, you must choose the raw organic variant of cocoa powder, the one which has not been ultra-processed (such as cocoa powders you find in supermarkets, which lose their nutrients, needed by our body).
The raw cocoa powder, that can be easily found in various online stores at a slightly higher price, is the one you should use in your beauty masks to prevent the skin aging process. This powder represents a great source of antioxidants, having a high content of magnesium, chromium, iron, manganese, copper, zinc and C, A, E, B vitamins.
Use all the properties of cocoa powder in your advantage:
1. Regenerating Face Mask
Mix one tablespoon of cocoa powder with one teaspoon of natural honey, 1 tablespoon of ground oatmeal and 2 tablespoons of fat yogurt. Rub your face with this mixture and then leave it on your skin for 10 – 15 minutes. Afterwards, remove it with warm water. Apply this mask on your face once a week.
2. Jojoba oil and cocoa powder face mask
Mix one teaspoon of cocoa powder with 1-2 teaspoons of raw cold pressed jojoba oil. Apply the resulting mixture on your skin (it can be also applied on the body, by replacing the jojoba oil with olive oil) and leave it there for 15 minutes. Remove the mask with cotton pads soaked in warm water.
3. Anti-cellulite body wraps
The cocoa butter that you can find in the online stores must be combined with cocoa powder and then applied on the areas of the body where cellulite is present. You must use aluminium or plastic foil to maintain the cocoa butter well pressed on your body. Let it on your skin for 15 minutes and then remove it with warm water.
4. Cocoa powder smoothie
Besides making your skin look beautiful on the outside, you should also try to nourish it from the inside. Mix 250 ml of almond or soy milk with 1 banana and 1-2 teaspoons of cocoa powder to obtain a delicious cocktail that will rejuvenate your entire body.
5. Add cocoa to your bath water!
Add one tablespoon of cocoa powder and 1/3 cup of powder milk (or goat milk) to the bath water to effectively moisturize your skin. You will feel pampered by this miraculous mixture and also you will no longer have problems regarding dry skin areas.
Once in a while, you should not forget to have a hot cocoa milk sweetened with honey or a piece of dark chocolate. These treats will surely brighten your day and make you sweeter.
