Antiaging treatment options

If you want to improve the early signs of aging you can choose from a wide range of special treatments, such as those containing retinoids, vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids. Chemical peels, dermabrasion and laser skin remodeling may be options for people whose skin already shows signs of aging.

Chemical peel consists of applying a chemical solution on the skin that causes the skin to peel. The procedure can be used to reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth, treat wrinkles caused by sun, but also as a result of aging, improving the appearance of minor scars, treat certain types of acne, reduce blemishes, freckles and melasma, which is the result of aging or the use of contraceptives.

Dermabrasion’s main role is to improve the scars caused by various accidents or illnesses, but less deep wrinkles caused by excessive sun exposure as well.

The cutaneous remodelling laser treatment is used for reducing facial wrinkles, and other skin irregularities, such as blemishes or acne scars. This technique uses beams of light to eliminate a number of layers of the skin. If you have fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, forehead or mouth or deep scars, then you may be a candidate for this procedure.

Deep facial wrinkles can be treated with various agents, botulinum toxin and fillers, including hyaluronic acid, fat or implants with gore-tex.

The treatment with botulinum toxin may help improve forehead wrinkles, wrinkles around the eyes, throat or lips, help reduce excessive sweating of the palms and armpits, and the results are obtained quickly enough.

Collagen and hyaluronic acid are types of fillers that are used by injection to fill wrinkles, fine lines, skin or scars. The hyaluronic acid is found naturally in connective tissue. Used to diminish signs of aging, it can contribute to the stretching of the skin around the eyes, lips and eyebrows or to mitigate the appearance of scars.

Some people may opt for surgery, such as those involving lifting and stretching the skin on the face, forehead or upper eyelid.
